MERCEDES SLR MCLAREN

The Mercedes SLR McLaren is a joint venture, produced by Mercedes Benz and the McLaren automotive, designed and built in Portsmouth and the McLaren’s technology centre in England. The term SLR means sport, light, racing. The car was inspired by the old Mercedes SLR version of 1955. The company discontinued the production of the SLR McLaren car in 2007, where as the roadster version of the car discontinues in 2009.the brakes of the car features a sensotronic system, the brake discs are carbon ceramic that produces less heat, friction and provides a better stopping power, better than that of steel brakes.

The SLR features a built in spoiler that gives the car better road grip and produces a down force when the car is moving really fast, the spoiler is mounted on the rear integral air flap.

The engine of the SLR is a v8, supercharged, 5.0 cc which produces a break horse power of 617hp and unlike many other sports car the engine of the LSR is mounted in front of the car. The body of the car is made up of carbon fiber that makes it super light weight, ultimately making it faster than the other super cars.

Many SLR versions are also available, having different additional features fitted in them, making the car better, including the SLR 722 and the roadster version of SLR.
