Major diseases common in Europe
Relatively few conditions are responsible for a large part of the disease burden in Europe. The European continent is the most affected by non communicable diseases (NCD), and their growth is rising continuously. Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the number-one killer, Mental health problems, brain diseases and cancer, are immensely complex and can often only be tackled by teams from different countries. All of the above mentioned diseases are leading contributors to the disease burden. Europe is fortunate to have excellent research centers active in these fields – the challenge is to ensure their further development in the particular field.

The regions poorer countries face more problems as there’s an increase in NCD and mental disorders that continue to be persistent and adds to burden of Europe. The Europe/WHO has always emphasized on creating, guiding public tools and norms/standards for the public to practice in order to stay away from these serious health risk factors.

WHO has developed various control programs in order prevent such diseases. In Europe NCD is highest among people who have a low standard of living compared to people who have a high standard of living. As people with less standard of living/socio economic conditions have twice the chances of serious illness and premature death due to fewer resources available. As times flies by the aging Europe presents more challenges .

it is predicted that by 2050 more than half of Europe will be over 65 years of age with at least 35% of the men and women will be faced by chronic diseases with a higher level of co-morbities.in order to fight against such chronic diseases Europe must assign a large amount of share of benefits to the health sector so that interventions could not only help in overcome diseases but also bring a significant health and economic gain to the countries
