For Muslims living abroad a mosque is a place to socialize, meet new people and worship. France is a place of cultural diversity, people come to France from various cultures and majority of the people traveling to France are Muslims, and a Muslim will find it hard to find mosque’s in France that often and considering the no. of Muslims in France, the government decided to built a mosque that is going to be the largest mosque in France,

Build on the outskirts of the city acts as a reassuring sight for the fisherman who fish daily on the shores. The project is estimated to be bout 25 million Euros and most of the money is coming from Saudi Arab and other Middle East countries.

Strict measure would be taken in order to check the mosque for its various activities, though some Muslims believe that it mite raise uproar amongst the Muslim world. The Muslims earlier used to pray in shops, in their garages, various places but now they’ll be having a mosque to offer prayer five times a day.

There have been many controversies during the making of the mosque as Marseille, itself is a small town with many people belonging to different cultures and making a huge mosque, that will surely oppress the others and they’ll think that the French government is not providing them with their rights to practice there religion but somehow the European government was able to strike a balance.
