UK car sales rise despite end of scrap-page scheme

Scrap-page scheme was introduced in order to help citizen’s sell off their cars that are about 13 years old at a price of 1500 euro’s. This scheme was a government funded scheme to promote the exchange of old cars with new cars, in order to protect the environment and ineffectiveness of vehicles moving on the road but due it certain controversies the scrap page program in UK came to an end and it was thought that with the sales of new cars will also be down but it was shocking and surprising to see the sales shoot up by 10.8% compared to the last year which help to set the off set the mess that was created by the scarp-page scheme.

The Vauxhall Astra was the top and the best selling model followed by ford fiesta. The car industry still expects good economic conditions to grow in the second half of the year,

which will be incredibly important for the UK economy. Even though Toyota is facing many set backs because of its failed braking system, it is still one of the highest selling cars in Europe and as most of the Toyota cars were brought back to the company or were scrapped.
